Title
Enhanced Quantum Sensing with Indefinite Causal Order

Abstract
Indefinite causal order, in which the sequence of quantum operations is coherently superposed, provides a unique resource for quantum metrology. In continuous-variable systems, it enables super-Heisenberg scaling, surpassing the conventional Heisenberg limit. In finite-dimensional systems, the super-Heisenberg scaling is not achievable, reflecting the typical Heisenberg-limited behavior of discrete-variable metrology. Nevertheless, these systems may exhibit regions of high sensitivity, characterized by divergences in the Fisher information, where small parameter variations can be sensed with exceptional precision. Thus indefinite causal order strategies can provide a metrological advantage in a different sense, beyond conventional limits, across both continuous- and discrete-variable settings, revealing a rich landscape of quantum-enhanced metrology.
